1. What Is It?

The Chroma-7 SynchroTone technology, which is part of the Lights & Shades line of products is a single-step hair lightener and colorant which can lighten the hair by up to seven levels, and simultaneously deposit desirable colorful tones in as little as ten minutes, and with minimal damage to the hair. This product has been on the dream list of product researchers and hairdressers for decades but has not been technically feasible until now. 2. Why Is It a Breakthrough?

Prior to this technology, lightening and coloring always required several steps in tandem: First, the hair is lightened with bleach, then shampooed, rinsed, dried, colored, shampooed again and rinsed. This sequence usually consumes between two and four hours of the hairdresser's and client's time. During that lengthy period, various chemicals are in contact with the hair and the skin. The Chroma-7 SynchroTone Technology reduces the exposure of hair to chemicals by reducing processing time to as little as ten minutes, and the whole application time to less than one hour.

3. How Does It Work?

This patented system employs colorants of certain classes of dyes with special chemical structures carrying protective groups, which enable them to withstand bleaches. Because of this important feature, two opposing processes, lightening and coloring, are able to co-exist and proceed simultaneously.

4. How Unique Is It?

Although the concept of single-step lightening and coloring has been around since hair color was introduced some seven decades ago, there is currently no complete system on the market which can lighten hair by more than four levels and color it at the same time in all shades of the color wheel. There are currently some products on the market that can lift by more than four levels and deposit only some hues of red.
